Against Chillicothe on Monday, the Trenton High School girls tennis team picked up one win in doubles play and just one more in singles action, falling to the Hornets 7-2 in dual action at the THS tennis courts.
Morgan Dolan and Arianna Overton were 8-5 winners at number-three doubles while Mallory Sole won 8-4 at number-five singles to account for Trenton’s only victories.
“Morgan and Alaina pulled out a hard-fought win while Mallory’s serves helped her to bring home our only singles win,” Coach Tammy Ockenfels said.
Lexi Gott and Kendall Crowley fell 8-5 in doubles play while Gwyneth Foster and Sole lost 8-2. In singles action, Gott fell 8-0, Crowley lost 8-1, Foster was defeated 8-4, Dolan lost 8-0 and Overton fell 8-6.
Trenton was 3-3 in JV action against Chillicothe, getting doubles wins from Amanda Parrack and Leslie Cotiangco (6-2), Harley Hall and Kaylor Farris (6-1) and Jessika Kennedy and Chloie Hall (6-4). Baley Catron and Emilee Lovell lost 6-4, Faith Lee and KayLeigh Streett fell 6-2 and Lydia Leininger dropped the only JV singles match, 6-0.
