On Monday, the Trenton High School girls golf team played host to the Marceline Tigers in a dual at the Riverside Country Club. Due to illness, Oakley Madden was unable to compete, leaving Trenton with just three golfers and no team score to be had.
Maci Henson led the way for Trenton, shooting a 52 to claim medalist honors at the dual. She also had Trenton’s only par of the day, taking a four on the second hole at the RCC.
“I was happy for Maci earning her first medalist honor,” Mullenix said. “She’s worked hard to improve her game, so it was nice to see her play well.”
Behind Henson, Trenton got twin 66’s from Mari Atup and Josie Chumbley. Marceline would post a score of 243. Had Trenton had a fourth golfer available, the Bulldogs would have needed a score of just 58 to win the dual.
Trenton will travel to the Gallatin Quad on Thursday and will be in Gallatin on Tuesday, Sept. 17, competing at the Gallatin Tournament.
