The Trenton High School tennis team couldn’t come up with the shots when they needed them on Thursday in a 7-2 home loss to the Savannah Savages.
Trenton dropped two of three doubles matches as Lexi Gott and Kendall Crowley fell 8-6 and Gwyneth Foster and Mallory Sole lost 8-3. Morgan Dolan and Alaina Overton scored a 9-8 win, however, to get Trenton on the board.
In singles play, Dolan won again, picking up an 8-6 victory But that would be Trenton’s only win in singles play as Gott and Foster each fell 8-3 at one and three, respectively, and Crowley lost 8-4 at number two. Sole fell 8-4 at number five and Overton was defeated 8-6 at six.
“All of the girls played hard and made good things happen on the court,” Trenton Coach Tammy Ockenfels said.
Trenton was home on Monday, hosting Chillicothe, and is home again today (Tuesday), playing host to LeBlond First serves at the THS tennis courts are scheduled for 4 o’clock.
