The Grundy County Delinquent Tax Sale was held Monday, with only five of 93 properties sold for back taxes.
Grundy County Collector/Treasurer Barbara Harris said the highest bid on the day was $1,473.98 for a property in Wilson Township. Two properties were sold in Trenton Township, one for the first sale and one for beyond the third sale. A third-sale property in Franklin Township was also sold. In all, the sale brought in $2,926.72, with no surplus bids recorded.
Mrs. Harris said she now has a list of properties that have gone beyond the third offering and can be purchased per state statute. That list can be viewed in her office, located on the second floor of the courthouse.
