Commissioner Gives Lions Club Program

Aug 26, 2019 | Headline News

The Trenton Lions Club met on Tuesday, Aug. 13 in the First Christian Church Family Activity Center.
President Seth Cox led the pledge to the U.S. flag, followed by prayer by George Moore. Moore also served as “tailtwister.”
Grundy County Presiding Commissioner Phil Ray updated club members on the duties and focus of his position. He recently attended the annual meeting of all county commissioners in the state of Missouri. The focus at that meeting was the disbursement of flood disaster relief monies and workforce development. The biggest challenge, according to Ray, is economic development. He expressed the desire to promote and revitalize northwest Missouri through the Highway 6 tourism program in conjunction with the new lake currently being constructed at Milan. He noted a concern with Grundy County’s dispatch software, adding that current software does not support rapid, strong interagency communication among the various law enforcement entities.
