The Trenton High School softball and volleyball teams are scheduled to be in jamboree action on Saturday.
For the Trenton softball team, last year’s state runners-up will travel to Brookfield to battle in a four-team field that also includes host Brookfield, Putnam County and Schuyler County.
Trenton will open the event with a three-inning session against Schuyler County at 10 a.m. The Bulldogs will face host Brookfield at 11 o’clock, before wrapping up the event with what should be a very vanilla session against Putnam County, whom Trenton opens the season with in a Grand River Conference match-up in Unionville on Monday, Sept. 2.
Each half-inning of the three-inning sessions will end after three outs are recorded or five runs are scored.
Admission to the softball jamboree in Brookfield will be a freewill donation.
Trenton’s volleyball team, meanwhile, will be in Cameron for their jamboree on Saturday. The Bulldogs will see Lathrop and Savannah along with the host Dragons at the event.
Action begins at 10 a.m. with Trenton facing Savannah in the Cameron Middle School gym. The Bulldogs play Lathrop in the middle school gym at 11 and close the day with a match-up with Cameron in the Cameron High School gym at noon.
Each match will last two sets with the set being played to 15. A team must win by two to take the set, however, the sets are capped at 19 points.
Trenton’s volleyball team opens the season on Tuesday, Sept. 3 with a trip to Lawson to face the Cardinals.
No admission price was listed for the volleyball jamboree.
