Upward Bound Students Spend Summer On NCMC Campus

North Central Missouri College Upward Bound high school students from Trenton, Galt, Hamilton, Gallatin, Chillicothe and Jamesport recently spent five weeks on the NCMC campus participating in academically and culturally enhancing activities through the UB Summer Component. Some of the activities included academic classes ranging from Spanish, History, Biology, Chemistry, Math, Creative Writing, Art, and Computer Coding designed to prepare them for the next year of school and beyond. Recent UB high school graduates enrolled in NCMC college courses where they were able to receive mentoring, tutoring and enrollment assistance. Students also participated in college visits, cultural trips and team-building activities. At the end of the summer component, participants went on a six-day trip to Orange Beach, AL with stops also at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and the Naval Aviation Museum.
