
Families and Friends of the Developmentally Disabled of Grundy County sponsored a Health and Nutrition Class on July 30 at Friendship Place Apartments. Abby Oberman from the Grundy County Health Department led the class. Those in attendance learned portion control, serving sizes and discussed healthy choices when preparing meals. There was a lot of discussion about the food groups, and what foods are a great choice for meals and snacks. A healthy snack of protein balls was prepared. FFDD will be hold more educational/vocational activities in the future.

Families and Friends of the Developmentally Disabled of Grundy County attended the Chillicothe Mudcats game at Burleigh Grimes Field in Trenton on July 10. The Mudcats organization provided tickets to the FFDD group to attend, with those attending required to budget money for the event if they wanted food and beverages or merchandise. Iced bottled water was provided by FFDD for the participants and volunteers in attendance.
