Trenton High School alumni will be returning home to celebrate class reunions during the annual THS Alumni Weekend celebration set for Thursday, Aug. 29 through Sunday, Sept. 1.
A number of activities are planned, beginning on Thursday with the “Welcome Home Alums” celebration and unveiling of decorated windows in the downtown area. Classes are being encouraged to set up special displays in downtown business buildings to celebrate the Bulldog spirit. Music and food is also tentatively scheduled to be featured that evening.
The all-alumni mixer will kick off Friday’s schedule. The event, hosted by the THS Class of 1965, will be held at the Riverside Country Club, beginning at 6 p.m. and is open to all alumni and friends. Light snacks will be provided and there will be a cash bar available.
For football fans, the THS Bulldogs will be holding their season opener at home on Friday night. Trenton will take on Lathrop in a 7 o’clock matchup at C.F. Russell Stadium.
The all-alumni open house and registration takes place at the THS commons on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Alumni are invited to stop by and meet with members from other classes who will be gathering and visiting. The THS Class of 1970 will be hosting the event.
Round-robin tennis competition will take place at the THS courts, beginning at 9 a.m. Randall Hutchinson and Mitch Dougan are in charge of the event, which is open to the public.
That evening will be the all-alumni dance at the Black Silo Winery from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Sunday’s schedule features the all-alumni brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the THS commons. There will be a small charge to cover food costs. All alumni are invited to attend.
There will also be golfing all weekend at the Riverside Country Club. Those participating will be required to pay the greens fee.
Individual class activities are also planned on Saturday. Among the classes having announced plans are:

Class of 1953 – 11:30 a.m. luncheon at Royal Inn Pizza (contact Sonna Foland Wiggins).
Class of 1954 – noon luncheon at Pizza Hut (contact Carolyn Louderback Brown).
Class of 1959 – 1 p.m. class gathering at Moberly Park enclosed shelterhouse, bring appetizer (contact Mary Sue Davis McCullough).
Class of 1961 – 2:15 to 5 p.m. class reunion at Royal Inn Pizza (contact Marie Husted Kamphefner).
Class of 1964 – 5 p.m. class social, followed by a 6 p.m. dinner in the Sugg Room of the Ketcham Community Center ( contact John Holcomb).
Class of 1969 – noon luncheon at Cross Hall (Contact Mike Arnold or Phil Hoffman).
Class of 1974 – 5 p.m. social and dinner at The Space (contact Kevin Bailey or Barbara Johnson Harris).
Class of 1979 – 11 a.m. class luncheon and get-together at 2003 Tower St. (contact Tom Stickler or Stan Perry at 918-361-1036).
Class of 1994 – class BBQ at home of Brandon and Tammie Coon Spencer (contact Dan McCullough, Todd Maxey or Tammie Coon Spencer).

Class of 2014 – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. reunion in Sugg Room of Ketcham Community Center with noon catered luncheon (contact Megan Derry or Rebecca Wiggins).
Classes that do not see their alumni information in this listing and would like to have it included when the list is published again are asked to submit it to the Republican-Times newspaper office as soon as possible by calling 359-2212 or bringing it to the office during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
