Chester Lee Hatfield, a 78-year-old resident of Stromsburg, NE, died on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Stromsburg.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019 at Metz Chapel York with Pastor Bob Johnson officiating. Military honors will follow. The body will be cremated with a private family inurnment. There is no scheduled family visitation.
Mr. Hatfield was born on June 23, 1941 in Trenton, the son of Chester A. and Ednagene Reames Hatfield. He served his country in the Air Force and worked as a truck driver. He was married to Tobi Hobbs, Sharren Cohagen and Joan Radcliff.
Mr. Hatfield enjoyed playing cards, western television and going to coffee with his friends. He especially enjoyed dancing, watching the Denver Broncos, playing cribbage, chessand pool and guns.
He is survived by his son, Eldon Johnson of Doniphan, NE; four daughters, Christi (Bill) Payne of York, NE Lori (Tony) Lovell of Wymore, NE, Amber (fiancee Curtis Quiring) Hatfield of Fairmont, NE and Jeanette (Danny) Miller of Doniphan, NE; three sisters, Joenda Weaver of Trenton, Carla Cahill of Grandview and Maylene (Lee) Stuart of Bonham, TX; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharren; and a granddaughter.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
