Quail Forever Is Rotary Topic

Jun 21, 2019 | Headline News

The Quail Forever program was the topic of a program presented at the Thursday, June 20 meeting of the Trenton Rotary Club. Gary Black was the program chairman.
Josh Marshall, a wildlife biologist and native of Gilman City, told about the program, which was started in 2005 as a way to address the dwindling pheasant and quail populations. Quail Forever has chapters in 30 states, including 20 in Missouri, and is involved in 540,000 historical habitat projects and 11,000 wildlife habitat projects impacting 18 million-plus acres. The program works to re-establish natural habitat while helping landowners meet wildlife and conservation goals. Marshall also discussed a pollinator program he was presenting in Trenton on June 21.
During the business meeting, members approved a $200 donation to the Bright Futures Trenton program to purchase school supplies.
The June 27 meeting will be an evening meeting, during which time new officers will be installed and Paul Harris Fellow recipients will be recognized. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. in Cross Hall on the campus of North Central Missouri College.
