Gale L. Hobbs, a 70-year-old resident of Galt, died at 1:31 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Saint Luke’s on the Plaza, Kansas City.
His body was cremated under the direction of Slater-Neal Funeral Home of Trenton. A celebration of life will be held later.
Mr. Hobbs was born on Oct. 10, 1948 at Newtown, the son of Paul and Margaret Putnam Hobbs. He graduated from Princeton High School. He was a farmer and local contractor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to sporting events all with his grandchildren.
He was married on Jan. 16, 1974 in Grundy County to Janice Kelsall, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by his children, Jerry Axtell and his wife, Sharmin of Laredo, Joe Axtell and his wife, Amy of Galt, Angie Rockhold and her husband, Joey of Bates City and Trampas Hobbs and his wife, Michelle of Clever; grandchildren, Mason, Dawson and Maddy Rockhold, Morgan and Corbin Axtell, Mayce Axtell and Austen, Justin and Jared Hobbs; and one brother, Randal Hobbs and his wife, Rosa of Spickard.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
