Animal Abuse Is Alleged

A Spickard woman has posted bond after turning herself in on a charge of animal abuse and property damage.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, 71-year-old Diana L. Miller is charged with a class A misdemeanor of animal abuse and a class B misdemeanor of second degree property damage. She is accused of failing to provide adequate control of a goat and allowing it to damage an apple tree owned by Trent Steinhoff by eating the buds off the tree. The incident allegedly occurred on Feb. 10.
Ms. Miller has posted $500 cash or corporate surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court May 28.
