THS/TMS Assistant Principal Kasey Bailey was the guest speaker at Wednesday’s THS Baccalaureate ceremonies at the First Baptist Church.
This website brought to you in part by the following sponsor:

Bailey, who will become THS principal in July, used the story of Joseph from the Bible in telling members of the Class of 2019 to follow the dreams that God has for them. In the story, Joseph is told by God that he will one day lead the people of his nation, only to be betrayed by his brothers, who become jealous and sell him to a band of travelers. Many years later, after suffering many trials, Joseph does become the leader of his people and forgives his brothers for their transgression by telling them that what they had done was actually a part of God’s plan and that it was God who led Joseph to his place in life.
“Your feelings and your desires will change and they will betray you,” Bailey said. “Be faithful in every circumstance of life, whether it seems good or bad, because you have no idea where this road is going; but you can trust that the One who leads you is faithful and true and that His dreams and desires for you exceed your own.”
Bailey concluded by offering his congratulations to the graduates, stating “it has been my genuine privilege to be a part of your story.”
“I know that I, along with many others who are gathered here, cannot wait to see how this story ends,” he said.
Bailey was introduced by Laura Carlson.
Saedee Jackson gave the welcome and Isaac Harris and Salem Croy used scripture from the book of 1 Timothy 4:4-16 for the devotion. Dylan Harris presented the invocation and Hunter Beverlin gave the benediction. Senior members of the THS Choir sang “For Good” and Emma Gilham and Karissa Brock gave the closing remarks. The prelude and postlude were played by Matt Sibbit, Dylan Harris and instructor Charlie Bacon.
