Fireworks Donations Sought

May 8, 2019 | Headline News

A community fireworks display is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, July 3 in Trenton.
The display will begin at dusk and will be held in the grassy area just north of the Rock Barn.
A volunteer committee of community members has been meeting to organize the event and help collect donations to help pay the $4,000 cost for the display. Past contributors are being contacted to help with this year’s display, however, funds from the public are also being encouraged as this is a community activity.
Persons wanting to make a donation can do so by dropping off money at the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce office at 611 E. Ninth St. or mailing it to the chamber at PO Box 233, Trenton, MO 64683. The chamber is serving as the collection point for the funds, but is not sponsoring the event. Money can also be left with any member of the committee, which includes Diane Lowrey, Rosetta Marsh, Joe Brinser, Glen Briggs and Joy Wright. Checks can be made out to the Chamber of Commerce and persons are asked to write “fireworks” on the notation line.
More information about the fireworks is available by contacting Mrs. Lowrey at the Republican-Times newspaper office, where donations can also be left.
