A Trenton resident was killed on Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle accident in Daviess County.
Richard Moore, 61, was pronounced dead at the Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany, where he was taken following the accident. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the motorcycle he was operating was southbound on Highway 13, one mile north of Coffey, when it went off the roadway, hit a guardrail and overturned, causing Moore to be ejected. The vehicle received extensive damage.
Moore was riding as part of the “Grandma’s Ride” poker run, which was being held to raise funds to support the Trenton Fire Department. The ride, sponsored by Cissy Wilcoxson, is held yearly in memory of four children who perished in a 2015 house fire in Trenton.
