Couple Arrested For Endangering Child

A Trenton couple has posted bond after being arrested for endangering the welfare of a child, with one of the parties also facing domestic assault charges.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Paula K. Ellis, 60, and George E. Ellis, 71, are both charged with the class A misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child for providing unsafe living conditions for a child under the age of 11. In addition, George Ellis is charged with two class A misdemeanors of domestic assault, accused of recklessly causing pain to a family member by throwing that person to the ground on April 3 and of recklessly causing pain to another family member between March 30 and April 1 by punching him in the face, pushing him down and kicking him in the ribs with his boots.
Paula  Ellis has posted $2,500 cash-only bond, while George Ellis has posted $5,000 cash-only bond. Both defendants are scheduled to appear in court May 14.
