Trenton High School vocal and instrumental music students took part in the State Solo and Ensemble Contest in Columbia over the weekend. Earning a silver rating in vocal music competition were soloist Emma Gilham, right, and the women’s trio of Karissa Brock, second from left; Kasie Otto, second from right; and Miss Gilham. soloists Leslie Cotiangco, left, and Miss Brock earned bronze ratings. Caleb Johnson received a gold rating for his tuba solo in instrumental music competition. Silver ratings went to Mari Atup, flute solo; Mackenzie Klinginsmith, clarinet solo; Amanda Parrack, tenor sax solo; and Nicole Rodriguez, tuba solo. Trager Leeper received a bronze rating for his trumpet solo.
