Former Resident To Be Honored

A former Trenton resident is among seven women to be honored by the Greater Bloomington (IN) Chamber of Commerce for their contributions to the community.
Kimberly Jackson Carballo will receive the Women Excel Bloomington award during a reception and celebration on May 30 on the campus of Indiana University. The seven award recipients were chosen based on their outstanding leadership, business acumen, entrepreneurship and community involvement.
Mrs. Carballo serves as the opera coach and on the collaborative piano faculty at the Indiana University School of Music. She is the founder and director of Reimagining Opera for Kids, an organization designed to introduce young people to opera as well as provide performance opportunities for future professionals. ROK brought its program to Trenton in 2013.
Mrs. Carballo is a 1993 graduate of Trenton High School and is the daughter of Phyllis Jackson of Trenton.
