During a meeting on Friday, Feb. 8, the Tri-County R-7 Board of Education offered a full-time principal contract to Wade Hall for the 2019-20 school year. The salary would be $55,000. A part-time principal contract for 2019-20 was offered to Pamela Cox, with a salary set at $30,800.
A bid was accepted from Midwest Transit for the purchase of an International 71-passenger school bus. The bid was $81,976. The board selected Home Exchange Bank for the lease-purchase financing at a rate of 3.75 percent for two years.
The 2019-20 calendar was approved, with the first day of classes being Thursday, Aug. 15 and the last day of classes being Monday, May 18. Changes were made to the current school calendar, with Feb. 15 and Feb. 18 being used as make-up days due to the weather. Conferences were also pushed back to Feb. 21.
Approval was given to an eight-month CD investment with Home Exchange Bank. The $150,000 will be invested at a rate of 2.57 percent.
The board will be seeking bids for the financial audit of the current school year and agreed to renew its membership with the OSBA Health Insurance consortium. The board discussed the budget and reviewed the daycare program, but took no action.
During an executive session, the board updated the substitute teacher roster.
The next meeting of the board will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 8 in the superintendent’s office at the school in Jamesport.
