Pamelia Sue Lovell-Govig, a 74-year-old Trenton resident, died at 2:46 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 at Saint Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza in Kansas City,
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019 at the First Assembly of God Church in Trenton.
Ms. Lovell-Govig was born on Jan. 18, 1945 in Trenton, the daughter of Arthur and Velma Courtney Cunningham. She graduated from Galt High School in 1963, then received her Certified Nursing Assistant diploma. She worked for Eastview Manor Care Center and Sunnyview Nursing Home before moving to Iowa, where she worked in Red Oak and Shenandoah nursing homes.
She was married in 1963 to John Daryl Bryan, whom preceded her in death. She was married in 1974 to David Paul Lovell, who preceded her in death in 1985. She was then married in 1987 to Ed Govig, who preceded her in death in 2013.
She spent much of her time knitting baby blankets and hats that she donated to Birthright and spending time with her dogs.
Surviving relatives include her sons, Tim Bryan and his wife, Gail of Spickard and Tommy Joe Lovell of Newton, IA; two grandchildren, Cade David Lovell of Red Oak, IA and Susan Lee Benner of Liberty; great-grandchildren, Dustin John Benner and Anaya Marie Benner of Liberty; and her dog, Mr. Wiggles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Paul Whitaker; and sisters, Ethel Keith, Helen Thompson, Ruth Brown, Glenda Townsend and Mary Sterling.
Memorial donations are suggested to Birthright of Chillicothe and may be left with or mailed to Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton.
