Puckett Named New Prosecutor

A Cameron attorney has been appointed to serve as the Grundy County Prosecutor until Gov. Mike Parson appoints a successor.

Kelly Puckett, left, a Cameron attorney, was sworn in as the new Grundy County Prosecuting Attorney Monday morning by Third Circuit Judge Thomas Alley. Judge Alley appointed Puckett to serve in the position due to the resignation of Carrie Lamm Clark. Puckett will serve until Gov. Mike Parson makes an appointment to the position.

According to Grundy County Circuit Clerk Becky Stanturf, Kelly Puckett, who is in private practice in Cameron, has been appointed by Third Circuit Judge Thomas Alley to fill the vacancy left by the recent resignation of Carrie Lamm Clark. Puckett, a Republican, was sworn in on Monday morning by Judge Alley and will begin his duties on Feb. 1. The person who is appointed by Gov. Parson will serve until the November 2022 election. Mrs. Clark has taken a full-time position with the Missouri National Guard.
