WMH Celebrates National Heart Month

Jan 24, 2019 | Headline News

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in women over the age of 35, but 80 percent of heart conditions can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.
During the month of February, in observance of National Heart Month, and in collaboration with the Muriel I. Kauffman Women’s Heart Center, Wright Memorial Hospital at Trenton will be displaying red dresses around the facility to promote awareness about women’s heart health. Red dresses are a nationwide reminder to all women of the need to protect their heart health and inspires them to take action to lower their risk for heart disease.
In addition, community members can raise awareness by wearing red on Feb. 1, which is 2019’s designated National Wear Red Day. Any persons, businesses or organizations who wear red on Feb. 1 can email photos in their attire to [email protected], and those photos will be shared on the Wright Memorial Hospital Facebook page.
