Jessica A. Rinehart, Kellogg, IA, had her motion granted to set aside a guilty plea in a 2010 case in which she is charged with two counts of class C felony second degree burglary, a class C felony of forgery and a class C felony of tampering with a motor vehicle. Her attorney is to submit a proposed order/judgment in the case, which was scheduled for Feb. 14.
Katie L. Corum, Trenton, waived formal arraignment and pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution of a felony, a class E felony. Imposition of her sentence was suspended and she was placed on probation for five years. She is also to pay $300 to the Law Enforcement Restitution Fund.
Jennifer L. Kroger, Trenton, waived formal arraignment and pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, a class D felony. Imposition of her sentence was suspended and she was placed on probation for five years, with the conditions that she pay $300 to LERF and apply to treatment court.
Michael A. Stantruff, Trenton, waived formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty to a class A felony of first degree assault (serious physical injury or special victim), a class A felony. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 14.
Jeffrey Chad Corbin, Trenton, withdrew his plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, a class D felony. Sentencing was deferred to allow the defendant to apply for treatment court.
Rodney W. Cranor, Trenton, withdrew his plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty to three class D felony charges of second degree burglary. He was sentenced to serve five years in the Department of Corrections on each charge with the jail time to run concurrently with each other and consecutively with other cases. Execution of the sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for five years, with the conditions that he pay $300 to LERF and $3,194 restitution. He also changed his plea to guilty on three class A misdemeanor charges of stealing and was sentenced to serve 32 days in jail on each charge. He was given credit for time served.
Jeffery D. Lewellen, Trenton, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, a class D felony. Imposition of his sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for five years with the condition that he pay $300 to the Law Enforcement Restitution Fund and complete 20 hours of community service.
Christopher E. Parsons, Trenton, waived formal arraignment and pleaded guilty to an amended charge of second degree assault, a class D felony. Imposition of his sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for five years.
Patrick L. Stephens, Galt, withdrew his plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid, a class C felony. Imposition of his sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for five years.
Tracie L. Todd, Trenton, waived formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty to unlawful use of a weapon (exhibiting), a class E felony and was given a Feb. 14 court date.
Shawn A. Wells, Trenton, had a jury trial set for June 7 on charges of first degree property damage, a class E felony, and stealing, a class D felony.
Tyler J. Williams, Princeton, withdrew his plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, a class D felony. He was sentenced to serve four years in the Department of Corrections. Execution of the sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for five years. He is to make restitution of $24,000, plus $300 to the Law Enforcement Restitution Fund. He was given credit for 240 days served in jail awaiting disposition of the case.
Michael J. Welling, Hatfield, had a two-day jury trial scheduled for July 29-30 on three class B charges of first degree child molestation; an unclassified felony of first degree statutory rape (person less than 14 years of age); two unclassified felonies of statutory sodomy (deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years of age); and a class D felony charge of incest. The case was moved to Grundy County on a change of venue.
Erick J. Wattenbarger, Trenton, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, a class C felony, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia-amphetamine or methamphetamine, a class E felony. He was sentenced to serve five years in the Department of Corrections on the first charge and four years on the second charge, with the sentences to run concurrently. Execution of the sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for five years, with the condition that he have an evaluation and follow all recommendations.
Steven K. Johnson, Trenton, admitted violating the terms of his probation on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, a class D felony. His probation was continued with additional conditions.
