The Trenton Middle School Spelling Bee was held on Wednesday morning with winners and alternates selected to compete at the Grundy County Spelling Bee on Jan. 30 at TMS. The fifth grade winner was Chylissa Turner with the word “resemble.” The fifth grade runner-up was Titus Kottwitz and the alternate was Isaac Bonta. Shaylise Turner was the sixth grade champion, spelling the word “flail.” Josh Truitt was the runner-up and Mirena King was the alternate. The winning word in the seventh grade bee was “conservatory” with Zane Michael named the champion speller. Braeden Bullman-Hartman was the runner-up and Ava Frazier was the alternate. Kaylea Boyle won the eighth grade bee with the word “qualify.” Eliana Cowling was the runner-up and Jillian Voorhies is the alternate.
