The Trenton High School junior varsity basketball teams picked up wins over Hamilton on Thursday, winning the girls game 37-12 and the boys game 43-25.
Trenton’s girls improved to 6-0 with their win. Hannah Bowe led the Bulldogs with nine points while Teya Cooksey and Chandler Lynch each scored eight and Jenna Reeter had six. Morgan King, Mallory Sole and Gracyn Rongey had two points each.
The JV boys evened their season record at 3-3 after completing the sweep of Hamilton. Trenton controlled the game throughout, using tough defense and aggressive play. Trenton led 15-5 at the end of the first quarter and 28-9 at the half. The Bulldogs would stretch their lead to 41-16 in the second half and eventually took the game by the 43-25 final score.
Camdyn Leeper led a very balanced scoring night for the Trenton boys with nine points. Chase Otto added eight points while Royce Jackson and Gavin Roeder each put up six. Tanner Lynch ended the game with five points, Brycin Loyd had three and Kayden Spencer, Preston Harris and Raife Sampson rounded out the scoring with two each.
Trenton’s JV returns to action on Tuesday, traveling to Polo to play abbreviated contests ahead of the varsity doubleheader between the two schools. JV action tips off at 5 p.m.
