Defective brakes were cited as the cause of an accident investigated Dec. 12 at the intersection of Lulu and 17th streets.
Trenton Police Sgt. Matt Preston investigated the accident, which occurred when a car driven by Bailey Dannatt of Trenton was northbound on Lulu Street. Ms. Dannatt attempted to stop at the stop sign at 17th Street, but due to a brake issue, her vehicle skidded into the intersection, striking a Trenton Municipal Utilities pickup truck, which was driven by Mark A. Newton of Trenton and was eastbound on 17th Street. Both vehicles sustained damage in the mishap, with Ms. Dannatt ticketed for operating a vehicle with defective brakes. No injuries were reported.
