Janice Elaine Berry, a 79-year-old resident of Fayetteville, AR, died on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, in Fayetteville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018 at Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 at the Summit Cemetery in rural Mt. Vernon.
Mrs. Berry was born at Milan, the daughter of Mike and Dorothy Downing. She graduated from Humphreys High School in 1957 and attended Gard Business School in St. Joseph. She worked for the University of Missouri. She was married to Dr. Ivan Berry. The couple lived in Kerrville, TX, Bryan, TX, Lincoln, NE and Fayetteville. She spent most of her working career as a legal secretary. She was active in the Ozark Literacy Council, the Daughters of Demeter and the QUILT Guild of NW Arkansas. She enjoyed quilting, reading, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and going on traveling adventures with her sister. Joyce.
She is survived by her daughters Elaine Berry and her husband, William Jaeger of Clay Center, NE and Brenda Krajewski and her husband, James of Fayetteville; son Brian Berry of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Nicholas Krajewski and his wife, Emily, Erica Krajewski and Robert Jaeger and his wife, Jaime; great-granddaughter, Leah Jaeger; a sister, Joyce Boswell; a brother, Leon Downing and his wife, Nancy; a sister-in-law, Karen Hargrave and her husband, James; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
