The Trenton FFA Chapter left for Indianapolis, IN on Oct. 23 for the 91st National FFA Convention. While traveling to Indianapolis, members had the opportunity to tour the ADM Headquarters in Decatur, IL. During the tour, members learned about ADM’s food development department and their grain marketing department. Members also took a tour of a Bayer seed production processing facility in central Indiana. Trenton FFA attended the opening general session and heard from keynote speaker Kyle Scheele as well as a national officer retiring address. On the final day of the trip, members attended the career show and expo, where they visited with many colleges, agribusinesses and agricultural organizations. One of the highlights of the trip was the entertainment. Members attended a Garth Brooks concert and a hypnotist show. All in all, it was a very rewarding trip that helped teach students about careers in agriculture and provided leadership opportunities in FFA.
