The Princeton City Council approved service contracts and adopted a revised ordinance during a meeting on Tuesday night.
City Clerk Danette Snapp said the council approved four service contracts, including three totalling $1,200 to help pay costs associated with a community play to be presented by the Princeton R-5 Drama Club and members of the community. The play will be presented on Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Cow Palace. Admission will be free.
The fourth contract was for $3,000 with the Mercer County Fair Board. The money will be used to pay for a band to perform at the fair on July 19.
The council adopted a new ordinance regarding dangerous dogs. Mrs. Snapp said the new ordinance, which encompasses all dog ordinances previously approved by the council, includes regulations regarding leash requirements, vaccination requirements, etc. and is not breed-specific.
The council approved participation in a discount program with Utility Gas Management, allowing the city to receive a 5 percent discount on its natural gas purchases. Also approved was adding Tony Johnson and Eddie Oswalt to the city’s bank cards.
The next meeting of the council will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6.
