The Grundy R-5 Junior High School boys basketball team opened play in the Mercer Tournament on Monday night, defeating Pleasant View R-6 39-13.
Grundy was paced by Corbin Axtell, who had 12 points, while Zach Cross added eight and Aidan Rains finished with seven. Kiefer Tolson led Pleasant View with seven points.
