Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts from the Trenton area will be hanging door tags this Saturday, Oct. 27 for their annual Scouting for Food campaign.
Scouts and parents that will help are asked to meet in the fellowship hall of the Wesley United Methodist Church at 9 a.m.
Items will be collected on Saturday, Nov. 2, beginning at 9 a.m. Those making donations are asked to leave their non-perishable items at the front door of their home for pick up, with the tag attached to the bag. The items will be donated to the Grundy County Community Food Pantry.
Those donating items are asked to check for expiration dates and dents. Any date for less than one month cannot be used. Canned meats, vegetables, soups, boxes for any meal helpers (hamburger, tuna, chicken), cereals or crackers are useful. Paper products, cleaning supplies and personal toiletries are also accepted.
