One person sustained injuries and had to be transported to the hospital following one of two motor vehicle accidents investigated recently by the Trenton Police Depart-ment.
According to an accident report filed by Officer Jasmine Diab, the mishap occurred Saturday afternoon on Ninth Street. A car driven by Mary Jane Willige of Marshfield was slowing to turn into a business lot when it was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Elizabeth M. Fewins of Trenton. Ms. Fewins said she looked in her rearview mirror for a moment and didn’t realize Ms. Willige’s vehicle had slowed. Ms. Willige was transported to Wright Memorial Hospital by Grundy County Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. No tickets were issued in the mishap, which resulted in minor damage to Ms. Fewins’ vehicle and moderate damage to Ms. Willige’s car.
An accident was also investigated Sunday at the intersection of Seventh and McPherson streets. Sgt. Jeb Walker’s accident report states that a sport utility vehicle driven by Amber May of Trenton was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection. Ms. May said she looked both ways and did not see any vehicles approaching. She proceeded to turn left onto East Seventh Street from McPherson Street and her vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Seth Tabbert, which was eastbound on Seventh Street. No injuries were reported in the accident, which caused minor damage to Ms. May’s SUV and moderate damage to Tabbert’s vehicle. No tickets were issued in the mishap.
