Mishap On River Bridge

One person sustained minor injuries on Monday morning in an accident on the Thompson River Bridge, one mile west of Trenton.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the mishap occurred when a van driven by Anthony J. Ciambrone of Baldwin City, KS was eastbound on the bridge and slowed due to a crash in the roadway. Alexis Palmer of Trenton was also eastbound and did not see that Ciambrone had slowed and struck his vehicle from behind. Ms. Palmer’s vehicle came to rest facing southeast on the bridge. Her car had to be towed from the scene after sustaining extensive damage, while Ciambrone’s van was driven from the scene with minor damage.
Ms. Palmer sustained minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Wright Memorial Hospital.
The accident was investigated by Trooper J.E. Hainey, with assistance from Trooper C.S. Riley.
