Rev. Wayne Lee Caulkins, a 90-year-old resident of Blue Ridge, died on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at the Blue Ridge Church in Blue Ridge. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Bethany.
A family visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
Rev. Caulkins was born on Nov. 28, 1927 on a farm near West Unity, OH, the son of Arthur and Lillian Swank Caulkins. He began attending Fort Wayne Bible College in January 1946. After graduating, he married JoAnn Houser and began a 72-year-career in the ministry.
The family moved to Blue Ridge, Missouri in 1965 and began their ministry at the Fairview Community Church. He preached his last sermon there on July 1, 2018.
He is survived by three daughters, Gloria Caulkins of Blue Ridge, Joy (Robert) Klinginsmith of Chillicothe and Darla Moore of New Hamburg, Ontario, Canada; a sister, Elma Rupp of Archbold, OH; a brother, Delmar Caulkins of Wasilla, AK; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a daughter, Sherry Welch.
