R-5 Elementary School Students Visit Galt Fire Department

The Grundy R-5 Elementary School recently took a field trip to the Galt Fire Department, where they met with Assistant Fire Chief Brian Smiley, pictured above, and Fire Chief Terry Wynne. Smiley and Wynne showed the students all three fire trucks and talked about what happens when they go to help fight fires. Roberta Sayer, Diane Hanes and Reta Smiley explained how to “Stop, Drop and Roll” in addition to sharing other fire safety strategies. The session ended by the students watching an informative video and enjoying cookies and juice.
