Spickard Board Of Aldermen OKs Burn Ban Ordinance

The Spickard Board of Aldermen met in regular session on Monday night.
New City Clerk Kristie Martin was introduced to the board. She provided the information to the media from the meeting, including approval of a new ordinance to implement a burn ban in the city limits when Grundy County issues a burn ban. Permission was granted for the fire department to charge $500 for fire quipment and apparatus and $100 per man hour for violators.
The Department of Natural Resources extension was approved until Nov. 9, with the sewer operator to provide information as requested by the DNR report regarding shutoffs, construction of new operating plant status, etc. An invoice was received for boom mower repair and a follow-up with the insurance company will be done to see if a claim can be filed.
The next meeting of the board will be at 6 p.m. on Nov. 12 at Spickard City Hall.
