The Grundy R-5 softball and baseball teams were in Novinger on Monday, drawing a split. R-5 took the softball game 26-9 while the baseball team fell 10-1.
In softball action, Emma Baxter tripled and drove in three runs for Grundy and Hannah Garcia had two doubles and two RBIs. Abby Webb doubled and drove in two runs as well and Grace Larson collected three hits and an RBI. Bri Carpio also had three hits, one a double.
For the baseball team, Tim Metcalf was one-for-two with the team’s lone RBI. Andrew Garcia had two hits in the loss and scored the Panthers’ only run.
Grundy’s softball team was back in action on Tuesday, falling 9-8 in Gilman City. Bri Carpio had two hits and three RBIs in the loss.
Both Grundy teams host to Novinger next Tuesday in Galt.
