Laredo School Board OKs Contract

Action was taken on several items during the Monday meeting of the Laredo R-7 Board of Education.
According to information provided by Administrator Misty Foster, the board approved a contract with Ashten Carman to provide occupational therapy services as well as the teacher evaluation procedures to be used this year. The board agreed to submit a bid for playground equipment and accepted a $1,000 bid from Charles Bowe to purchase a district-owned bus. Also approved was a contract with ProServe for a copy machine.
The board voted to participate in seventh and eighth grade basketball this year as well as field trips to the American Royal Rodeo (grades three through eight) on Sept. 25 and to a pumpkin patch (grades kindergarten through two) on Oct. 12. The board reviewed the budget and agreed to run an advertisement for snow removal services.
Following an executive session, the board voted to pay personnel $35 for extra trips that are three and one-half hours or less.
The next meeting will be on Monday, Oct. 8.
