Rex Ross Is New Trenton Chief Of Police

Trenton Police Lt. Rex Ross has been hired as the new chief of police following a closed meeting of the Trenton City Council on Friday morning.
The council voted 6-2 to hire Ross with Larry Crawford and William Fisher voting no. On a 5-3 vote, the council set Ross’ salary at $53,135, with Crawford, Fisher and David Mlika voting no.
Ross brings more than 29 years of law enforcement experience with him and has been the lieutenant/assistant police chief since 2002. He has been serving as interim police chief since June 29 following the resignation of former Chief Tommy Wright, who resigned from that position effective June 29.
