A ticket was issued and minor injuries were reported in an accident involving a truck pulling a horse trailer on Sunday, Aug. 26.
According to Trenton Police Officer Matt Preston’s accident report, the mishap occurred when a car driven by Madison Hoover of Trenton was stopped or in the process of stopping at the red light at the intersection of East Ninth Street and Oklahoma Avenue. Her vehicle was struck from behind by the truck pulling a four-stall horse trailer that was driven by Roy T. O’Brien of Carthage. O’Brien said he attempted to avoid the collision by moving into the center turn lane, but the right front of his truck hit the left rear of Ms. Hoover’s car.
Ms. Hoover was transported to Wright Memorial Hospital by private vehicle, complaining of neck pain.
O’Brien was ticketed for following another vehicle too closely.
