The Grundy County Delinquent Tax Sale will be held on Monday, Aug. 27 at the courthouse.
As of Aug. 22, a total of 138 properties were slated to be offered for sale at the auction, which will begin at 10 a.m. Of that number, 58 are being offered for the first time, 33 are being offered for the second time and 13 are being offered for the third time. There are 34 properties being offered after the third time and a list of those properties can be obtained in the collector’s office at the courthouse.
Madison Township has the largest number of properties being offered, 69, with all of them located at Leisure Lake. There are 29 properties located within Trenton Township being offered, 21 are in Franklin Township, 10 are in Liberty Township and nine are in Wilson Township.
Property owners have until 4:30 p.m. today (Friday, Aug. 24) to pay the back taxes and have the properties removed from the sale list. All buyers must be Missouri residents and not owe any back taxes.
