Leon Crawford, a 73-year-old resident of Trenton and former Spickard resident, died on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018 at the Saint Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Trenton with Brian Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the North Evans Cemetery, east of Spickard.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mr. Crawford was born on Aug. 10, 1945 at Spickard, the son of Raymond Leon and Della Mae Shipps Crawford. He graduated from Spickard High School and was veteran of Vietnam Era, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired after over 40-plus years working for ConAgra in Trenton.
He was a member of the Spickard Baptist Church.
His survivors include one daughter, Callie Jeffers and her husband, Brandon of Independence; one son, Curtis Crawford and his wife, Tona of Trenton; four grandsons, Trent Crawford, Connor Crawford, Brayden Jeffers and Colton Jeffers; one sister, Mary Zimmerman and her husband, Larry of Lincoln, NE; and one brother, Larry Crawford and his wife, Kay of Trenton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
