Jeff Crowley spoke to members of the Trenton Rotary Club about his business, Serve Link Home Care, when the club met on Thursday, Aug. 16 at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall.
Crowley said Serve Link, which was formerly known as Services for Older Americans, is celebrating its 45th anniversary in Trenton, having been established in 1973 as part of a statewide effort to provide health services to rural areas. Crowley has been with Serve Link since 1995. The business offers a wide array of direct services, including home health, in-home care and Lifeline and has 84 employees, including over 60 home care aides who work throughout the nine-county Green Hills area. Direct home health and in-home nursing care is provided by Serve Link registered nurses in Grundy, Daviess, Linn, Livingston, Chariton and Macon counties while the company also works with health departments in Mercer, Putnam, Sullivan and Caldwell counties to provide nursing care in those areas. There are also over 280 persons who use the Serve Link Lifeline service.
Serve Link will be holding an anniversary celebration on Thursday, Sept. 13 in recognition of its 45 years in business.
During the business meeting, tickets were distributed for the annual Rotary Fish Fry, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Rock Barn. Serving will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. and will include musical entertainment along with free prizes and a silent auction. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 12 and can be obtained by contacting any Rotary member.
Missouri Day Parade Committee members Steve Taylor and Savannah Summers displayed the new Rotary flags the club has purchased. The flags, which will be placed on the Ninth Street Bridge, will be flown on various holidays as well as during the Missouri Day Festival. Parade Chairman Brian Upton said that nominations for grand marshal are still being accepted, with the committee to meet on Aug. 29 to review those suggestions. The theme of this year’s parade is “Hometown Heritage.”
The club will meet again on Aug. 23.
