KCP&L OKs Rate Increase

Aug 17, 2018 | Headline News

The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request to change the fuel adjustment charge on its electric customers’ monthly bills.
The change, filed by Kansas City Power and Light’s Great Missouri Operations Company, reflects the cost to purchase fuel and power from December 2017 to May 2018 as well as the company’s fuel adjustment charge true-up. With the PSC approval, a residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month will see a monthly increase of around $1.14 to $2.40 a month. The change will take effect on Sept. 1. Among area counties affected are Grundy, Daviess, Mercer, Harrison and Livingston.
