Residents of Trenton and Cleveland, GA were injured in a three-vehicle accident on Monday afternoon, July 30 on Highway 6, east of Trenton. Drew Kelly, 25, of Trenton and Herbert Lamb, 70, of Cleveland, GA were taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton for treatment of their injuries. Kelly, who was taken by private vehicle, had moderate injuries while Lamb, who was taken by the Grundy County Ambulance Service, had serious injuries. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that Kelly was the driver of a car that was eastbound when it crossed the vehicle crossed the center line and struck the trailer unit of a tractor-trailer driven by David Woodard, 62 of Waco, GA, who was not injured. The Kelly vehicle continued traveling in the westbound lane and struck the front of the truck driven by Lamb. The car and truck were demolished while the tractor-trailer received minor damage. The accident was investigated by Trooper J.E. Hainey, assisted by Sgt. Joe Rongey and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department.
