Jimmie “Jean” Wood, an 89-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Edgewood Cemetery at Chillicothe.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. General visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wood was born on Feb. 7, 1929 near Higginsville, the daughter of James Webb and Beulah Bertha Luetjen Anson. She graduated from Higginsville High School in 1947. She was married on Dec. 6, 1947 in Higginsville to William Eugene “Gene” Wood, who survives.
She worked as a teacher’s aide for the Chillicothe School District. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe prior to residing at The Baptist Home. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking, cooking and selling her goods at the Trenton market.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jim Wood and his wife, Linda (Clapp) of Milton, FL and Mike Wood and his wife, Julie (Crawford) of Leawood, KS: three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Evelyn Daum and Mary Ann Luke.
