Black Stone Cherry

Rock, blues, country and bluegrass music will make their way to Trenton later this month as the second annual Mid-America Music Festival takes place at the Black Silo Winery.
Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28 are the dates for the event, which features 15 bands, food trucks, vendors, wine tasting, a beer garden, hot air ballon rides and an incredible fireworks show. In addition, persons wanting to spend the weekend will be afforded an opportunity to camp on-site in an area just east of the winery.
Gates open on both days at noon.
Friday is devoted to rock and blues, with seven bands scheduled to perform. The featured performer for the evening is Black Stone Cherry, scheduled to perform at around 9:45 p.m. For 17 years, Black Stone Cherry has put forth “a new vicious breed of Southern Rock, injecting youthful vitality and a myriad of fresh new influences into the beloved American rock tradition.” The band has released five critically acclaimed albums as well as one blues EP while sharing the stage with such groups as Def Leppard, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Motorhead and ZZ Top.
Hired Gun, a classic rock and blues band, gets the day rolling at 2:15 p.m., followed by local cover band Centerline at 3:30 p.m. The rest of the line-up for the day includes Members Only, an 80’s tribute band, at 4:45 p.m.; Them Dirty Roses, a southern rock band, at 6 p.m.; Bishop Gunn, a blend of rock and roll/soul and blues, at 7:15 p.m. and Shaman’s Harvest at 8:30 p.m.
It will be country and bluegrass day on Saturday, with Uncle Kracker as the featured artist. He is set to perform around 9:45 p.m. Uncle Kracker is best known for his debut major label single “Follow Me,” which hit #1 in 2000 and continues to be a favorite. The album featuring that song, “Double Wide,” went double-platinum and set the tone for a career that has included the release of hits “Drift Away” and “Smile.” His duet with Kenny Chesney on “When the Sun Goes Down,” spent several weeks at #1 on Billboard’s country song chart.
Hometown favorite Slow Leak, featuring Trenton natives Travis Mullenix, Bob Gass and Stoney Bowers, will kick off the day at 1 p.m., followed at 2:15 p.m. by Kasey Tindall. Other performers include the Pat Cooper Band at 3:30 p.m., Hailey Whitters at 4:45 p.m., Hudson Moore at 6 p.m., the Scooter Brown Band at 7:15 p.m. and Stoney LaRue at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are available for purchase. Daily admission is $49 while a two-day general admission pass is $85. This gets individuals access to both stages as well as re-entry to the festival grounds from the parking area. A two-day VIP pass is available for $145 and includes reserved stage access as well as access to a private beer garden/bar area (air conditioned tent seating) and VIP bathrooms.
