Jeania Hyde Donelson, an 87-year-old resident of Princeton, died on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
At her request, no services will be held. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in Princeton Cemetery, Princeton
Mrs. Donelson was born on Aug. 30, 1930 in Portland, Oregon the daughter of Ira B. and Lorene Fuller Hyde. She moved to Princeton in 1938 and graduated from Princeton High School in 1948. She later attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
She was married on Nov. 15, 1950 to J Morgan Donelson at the home of her uncle, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Missouri, Laurance M. Hyde in Jefferson City. Together they had two children, a daughter, Catherine Lorene and a son, Justin Brian.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She avidly helped J Morgan campaign for political office, was a member of the Eastern Star, Republican Women, Rebekah Lodge, and PEO. She had a love for travel and enjoyed every trip she took. She thought the best money you could spend was on traveling and learning about the world.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Tammy Donelson of Princeton; three grandchildren, Justin Wayne Donelson and his wife, Stephanie of Madison, GA, James Tyson Donelson and his wife, Jessica of Fulton and Stacy Jane Donelson of Princeton; and four great-grandchildren, Anniston and James Korbin Donelson of Fulton and Justin Morgan, and Gwyndolin Donelson of Madison, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J Morgan; her daughter, Catherine; and her son, Justin Brian.
Memorials may be made to the J Morgan and Jeania Donelson Memorial Scholarship in care of Roberson Funeral Home at PO Box 316, Princeton, MO 64673.
