CWF Meeting Held On June 19

Jun 22, 2018 | Social Scene

Six members and one guest, Bev Wimer, attended the June 19 meeting of the CWF held in the fellowship hall of the First Christian Church.
President Cindy Stewart called the meeting to order with members repeating the CWF prayer.
It was announced that 18 campers were given scholarships for summer church camp. The consensus from the group was that wording on next year’s online application needs to restrict the scholarships to First Christian children.
Courtesy chairman Nema Rowoth gave a written report on cards sent. Those ill include Phyllis Tuggle, Sarah Maloney, Mary Porter, Kay Stuart and Millie Perry.
Those present worked on the CWF yearbook for the 2018-2019 year, which begins July 1. It was agreed to conduct fewer meetings in the next church year. In addition to winter and summer breaks, there will be no meetings in April and October. The programs and hostess responsibilities have also been changed. The monthly circle meetings remain the same.
Betty Wimer had the program, “Getting to Know You After All These Years.” Members drew questions from a basket related to all aspects of life and gave their answers. Talma Joiner gave the meditation from the book, “Why Doesn’t My Cat Catch Cold.” using the excerpt “It Isn’t Fair.” The members were advised to keep an attitude of gratitude because there is always someone around worse off. Persons should consider their assets, give sincere thanks and avoid a “poor me” attitude.
The meeting closed with the CWF prayer.
